Cochrane's travel profile is different from the towns east and north of Calgary. A large share of what we book here is leisure rather than family-visit travel: European city breaks, UK trips, Mexico and Costa Rica in the winter, and increasingly Iceland and Portugal. Long-haul subcontinent volume is lower than in Chestermere or northeast Calgary, and our recommendations reflect that.
The other Cochrane pattern is timing. Sunset Ridge, Riversong, Fireside, Heartland, and GlenEagles are commuter neighbourhoods, and clients here book further ahead than average — often six to nine months for summer travel. That works in your favour on transatlantic routes, where fares to London, Dublin, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam genuinely do bottom out three to four months out.

03 · Local detail
Budget 45 to 55 minutes. Either Highway 1A or Highway 1 east, then north on Stoney Trail to approach the airport from the west and north. This is the longest airport run of any community we regularly serve, so build in more buffer than you think you need.
The 1A through the Bow Valley is materially worse than Highway 1 in snow and freezing fog. Between November and March, take Highway 1 and add half an hour. A missed international departure costs far more than an early start.
International departures leave from the International Terminal. Coming in on Stoney Trail from the west, follow International signage rather than the first Departures exit.
For any trip beyond two weeks, a park-and-fly hotel package near YYC usually beats long-stay parking on price, and it removes the pre-dawn winter drive entirely. Worth pricing on any December through February departure.

No. Cochrane files are run as fully remote by default — WhatsApp or phone for the quote, email for passport scans, and PDFs back for tickets, invoices, and insurance certificates. Our northeast Calgary office is available if you want it, but it is a 45-minute drive and rarely necessary.
Between 45 and 55 minutes in good conditions via Highway 1 and Stoney Trail. In winter, take Highway 1 rather than the 1A and add at least half an hour — the Bow Valley stretch handles snow and freezing fog badly.
Three to four months ahead for the best transatlantic pricing out of Calgary, so February to March for a June or July departure. Cochrane clients tend to book earlier than average anyway, which on this particular route genuinely pays.
