02 · Region overview

A Calgary family agency for subcontinent travel.

Wings Travels has been booking flights between YYC and the Indian Subcontinent since 2015. We know the airline routings that save Alberta families hundreds of dollars — whether that's the Air Canada non-stop via Toronto into Delhi, the Emirates routing through Dubai that lets you split a 22-hour journey with a proper hotel stopover, or the Qatar Airways option into Lahore that handles three-generation family bookings without the chaos.

We book India (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Goa, Kochi, Trivandrum), Pakistan (Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Multan, Sialkot, Peshawar), Bangladesh (Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet), Sri Lanka (Colombo) and Nepal (Kathmandu). Open-jaw itineraries — fly into Delhi, out of Amritsar, or into Lahore, out of Islamabad — are one of our most common requests, and they usually save our clients $100–$300 per passenger versus a simple round-trip.

We also handle the paperwork around the ticket. Indian e-Visa applications, OCI cards for Canadian passport holders of Indian origin, Pakistan NICOP and Pakistan Origin Cards, Bangladesh visas, and Schengen stopover visas for routings that require a long layover in Europe — our Calgary visa desk has handled thousands of subcontinent applications from Alberta residents.

03 · Why Wings

Specialists, not a

Visa & passport requirements.

India

Canadian passport holders need an e-Visa (tourist, business or medical) or a regular paper visa depending on length of stay. OCI cardholders can enter on their OCI. e-Visas take 3–5 business days. Passport must have 6 months validity and 2 blank pages.

Pakistan

Canadians need a visit visa or NICOP if Pakistan origin. NICOP allows visa-free entry. The e-Visa system (Track & Trace) handles most tourist and family visit applications in 7–10 days.

Bangladesh & Sri Lanka

Bangladesh offers visa-on-arrival for Canadian tourists (up to 30 days). Sri Lanka requires an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) processed in 24–48 hours. Nepal also offers visa-on-arrival at Kathmandu.

Transit visas

Layovers over 12 hours in London, Frankfurt, Paris or Amsterdam may require a Schengen or UK transit visa. We screen every itinerary before ticketing.

05 · FAQ

Subcontinent questions,
straight answers.

Things we get asked on WhatsApp every week from Calgary families heading home.

How long is the flight from Calgary to Delhi?

Most one-stop routings from YYC to Delhi (DEL) are 18–22 hours total travel time. Air Canada connects in Toronto (YYZ), Lufthansa and KLM through Frankfurt or Amsterdam, Emirates via Dubai (DXB), Qatar Airways via Doha (DOH), and British Airways through London Heathrow. Emirates and Qatar usually offer the shortest total travel time.

Which airlines fly from Calgary to Pakistan?

There are no direct flights from Calgary to Pakistan. The best routings are Emirates (YYC–DXB–LHE/ISB/KHI), Qatar Airways (YYC via DOH), Turkish Airlines (via Istanbul), or Air Canada/United Airlines connecting through Toronto or Washington DC onwards to Lahore or Karachi via a second connection.

When is the cheapest time to fly to India?

The cheapest fare windows from YYC to India are typically late January through mid-March, and late August through mid-October. Avoid peak season: mid-November through early January (Diwali and Christmas) and May–June (school break). Book 90–150 days ahead of departure for the best fares. WhatsApp us for fare alerts on your preferred route.

Do I need an Indian e-Visa if I have an OCI card?

No. OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholders can enter India without an e-Visa using a valid passport plus the OCI card. If your OCI was issued in a previous passport, you'll need a transfer (U-visa sticker) on your new passport. Our Calgary desk handles OCI new applications, renewals, and passport transfers.

Can I book open-jaw tickets (Delhi in, Amritsar out)?

Yes. Open-jaw and multi-city itineraries are one of our most common subcontinent bookings. Delhi in / Amritsar out, Lahore in / Islamabad out, or India+Nepal combos are all common. They usually save $100–$300 per passenger versus round-trip tickets. Use the widget above for the simple version, or WhatsApp us for complex routings.

Can you arrange airport pickup in India or Pakistan?

Yes. We arrange pre-paid airport transfers in Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar, Bangalore, Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi — so your elderly parents aren't haggling with taxi drivers at 3am. Included free on all tour packages, or available as an add-on.
