02 · Region overview

A Calgary family agency for subcontinent travel.

Wings Travels has been booking flights between YYC and the Indian Subcontinent since 2015. We know the airline routings that save Alberta families hundreds of dollars — whether that's the Air Canada non-stop via Toronto into Delhi, the Emirates routing through Dubai that lets you split a 22-hour journey with a proper hotel stopover, or the Qatar Airways option into Lahore that handles three-generation family bookings without the chaos.

We book India (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Goa, Kochi, Trivandrum), Pakistan (Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Multan, Sialkot, Peshawar), Bangladesh (Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet), Sri Lanka (Colombo) and Nepal (Kathmandu). Open-jaw itineraries — fly into Delhi, out of Amritsar, or into Lahore, out of Islamabad — are one of our most common requests, and they usually save our clients $100–$300 per passenger versus a simple round-trip.

We also handle the paperwork around the ticket. Indian e-Visa applications, OCI cards for Canadian passport holders of Indian origin, Pakistan NICOP and Pakistan Origin Cards, Bangladesh visas, and Schengen stopover visas for routings that require a long layover in Europe — our Calgary visa desk has handled thousands of subcontinent applications from Alberta residents.

03 · Why Wings

Specialists, not a
generic booking engine.

We fly these routes ourselves. Our team is from Punjab, Delhi, and Lahore — we know which airline feeds which regional network, where the layover hotels are worth it, and when to book.

Visa & passport requirements.

India

Canadian passport holders need an e-Visa (tourist, business or medical) or a regular paper visa depending on length of stay. OCI cardholders can enter on their OCI. e-Visas take 3–5 business days. Passport must have 6 months validity and 2 blank pages.

Pakistan

Canadians need a visit visa or NICOP if Pakistan origin. NICOP allows visa-free entry. The e-Visa system (Track & Trace) handles most tourist and family visit applications in 7–10 days.

Bangladesh & Sri Lanka

Bangladesh offers visa-on-arrival for Canadian tourists (up to 30 days). Sri Lanka requires an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) processed in 24–48 hours. Nepal also offers visa-on-arrival at Kathmandu.

Transit visas

Layovers over 12 hours in London, Frankfurt, Paris or Amsterdam may require a Schengen or UK transit visa. We screen every itinerary before ticketing.

05 · FAQ

Subcontinent questions,
straight answers.

Things we get asked on WhatsApp every week from Calgary families heading home.

Which subcontinent cities do you fly to most from Calgary?

Delhi, Amritsar, Mumbai, Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad are our highest-volume routes, with Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dhaka, Colombo, and Kathmandu also booked regularly. This is the corridor where our consolidator contracts make the biggest difference to what you pay.

How long is the journey from Calgary to India or Pakistan?

Typically 20 to 28 hours with one or two connections, routing through European or Gulf hubs. Delhi and Mumbai are generally the quickest; Amritsar, Lahore, and Islamabad usually add a further connection.

When are fares highest?

The wedding season and the summer school holidays drive subcontinent pricing far more than how early you book. July, August, and December are consistently the most expensive periods, and those dates need booking five to six months ahead rather than three.

Can you book a large family group on one reservation?

Yes, and you should. One record keeps seats together, keeps the whole party on the same rebooking if a connection fails, and lets us attach wheelchair and mobility assistance to the tickets themselves rather than requesting it at the airport.

Do you handle the visas as well?

Yes. Our Calgary desk prepares Indian tourist visas and e-Visas, OCI cards, and Pakistani visas, NICOP, and POC applications. For travellers of Indian or Pakistani origin, we will also tell you when an OCI card or NICOP is a better long-term answer than repeated visas.

What about excess baggage?

Families travelling to the subcontinent routinely move more luggage than standard allowances permit, and buying extra capacity at the airport is the most expensive way to do it. We plan allowances into the booking and advise which carriers on your route are most generous.
