Okotoks sits on the wrong side of Calgary from the airport, and that single fact shapes how we handle bookings here. Around 50 minutes to an hour. North on Highway 2 or Macleod Trail, onto Deerfoot or Stoney Trail, then east into the airport. This crosses the full length of the city, so weekday morning traffic is a real factor.
For a weekday morning departure, Stoney Trail east is usually the safer bet than pushing north through Deerfoot's downtown stretch. It looks longer on the map and is frequently faster in practice.
A 6am international departure means leaving Okotoks around 2:30am. For many Foothills families a park-and-fly hotel the night before costs less than the taxi fare and removes the risk entirely.
Extended winter departures to Phoenix, Palm Springs, and Puerto Vallarta typically leave mid-morning rather than pre-dawn, which makes the drive far easier. We flag the better departure slots when quoting.
